Overview Hotel Surplus Outlet is seeking a personable, resourceful Sales & Customer Service Associate to join our warehouse retail team in the Lake Balboa/Van Nuys area. You'll help customers find the right pieces, provide great service from start to finish, and support day-to-day store operations. We are a family-owned business founded in 1998 , and we pride ourselves on a casual, team-oriented work environment that works best with strong collaboration and communication. We are furniture liquidators and retailers offering a constantly changing mix of new and used furnishings from fine hotels, home stagers, and manufacturers--so there's always something new on the floor. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, is confident in a retail environment, and has a genuine interest in furniture and design. Candidates with furniture/retail sales experience may have an opportunity to grow into a key holder/manager role. This is a non-commissioned position with an emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, and strong customer relationships. Pay rate will be finalized based on experience, skill set and readiness to perform Schedule & Availability We need someone who can work regular weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 AM -4:00 PM) and weekday shifts (9:00 AM -5:00 PM). Responsibilities * Greet and assist customers; recommend products based on needs, space, and style * Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale * Stay informed on current inventory, pricing, promotions, and new arrivals * Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently * Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming showroom/warehouse floor * Collaborate with the team to keep operations running smoothly Qualifications * Prior retail or sales experience preferred (furniture sales is a big plus) * Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable starting conversations with customers * Strong time management and communication skills * Basic technology/internet skills (a plus) * Multilingual abilities are a plus; bilingual proficiency is a bonus Join our team and enjoy a hands-on, customer-focused role in a fast-moving furniture environment with room to grow.We are seeking a personable and resourceful Sales Associate to join our team at Hotel Surplus Outlet. This person would handle customer service and furniture sales from our warehouse store in Lake Balboa/Van Nuys neighborhood. We are furniture liquidators and retailers, offering a wide range of new and used furnishings from fine hotels, home stagers and manufacturers. We have a selection of inventory which is always changing to keep things interesting. The ideal candidate will have retail experience and a passion for sales and customer service. A candidate with an interest in furniture and design could do very well in this position. This is a non commissioned position with an emphasis on team work and collaboration. Good communication skills and an outgoing personality are great assets for this position. We need a team member who is available to work regular Saturday and Sunday shifts between the hours of 10am & 4pm .
