Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Entry Writer/Import Coordinator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be the vital link ensuring smooth import operations, accurate data entry, and effective communication with carriers, vendors, and clients. Your energetic approach will help streamline supply chain processes, manage transportation schedules, and support customer relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop expertise in international logistics, transportation management systems, and supply chain coordination while contributing to the seamless movement of freight across borders. Duties * Prepare and process import documentation with precision, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations such as FDA standards and customs requirements. * Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), and 3PL providers to schedule pickups, deliveries, and dispatches efficiently. * Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and AS400 software to enter data accurately and track shipments in real-time. * Communicate proactively with customers to provide updates on shipment status, resolve issues promptly, and foster strong customer relationships through excellent service. * Assist in negotiating freight rates, contracts, and pricing strategies to optimize transportation costs while maintaining high service levels. * Support sales efforts by lead generation activities, inside sales initiatives, and developing new business opportunities within the logistics sales sector. * Manage transportation planning activities including dispatching freight, scheduling carrier pickups, and coordinating logistics for timely delivery. * Maintain detailed records of all import transactions, compliance documentation, and contractual agreements to ensure audit readiness. * Creating in bonds and closing out in bonds. Qualifications * 3 years or more of experience in imports, logistics coordination, and handling in bonds * Knowledge of Cargo wise system a pluss * CCS prefered * Proven experience or familiarity with supply chain management, transportation management systems (TMS), and logistics operations. * Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes including B2B sales, carrier sales, and logistics sales strategies. * Excellent data entry skills combined with knowledge of EDI protocols and AS400 or similar enterprise software platforms. * Demonstrated ability in negotiation, account management, and building lasting customer relationships. * Knowledge of FDA regulations related to import/export activities is a plus. * Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. * Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners across the supply chain network.
