Dorothy 's Dance Shop | San Antonio, TX Dorothy's Dance Shop is a locally owned specialty retail store serving the San Antonio dance community for generations. We are known for expert shoe fittings, exceptional customer service, and building long-term relationships with dancers and families. We are currently hiring Full-Time and Part-Time Retail Sales Associates who are dependable, friendly, and enjoy helping customers feel confident and prepared. Why You 'll Love Working Here * Work in a specialty retail environment (not big-box retail) * Receive hands-on training in dance shoe fitting and product knowledge * Be part of a supportive, team-focused workplace * Make a real impact in the local arts and dance community What You 'll Do * Provide warm, knowledgeable, and personalized customer service * Assist customers in selecting dancewear, footwear, and accessories * Fit dance shoes , including ballet, tap, jazz, dance sneakers, ballroom, and pointe shoes (training provided) * Learn and apply effective retail selling strategies * Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store * Create and refresh merchandise displays * Receive, unpack, tag, and merchandise new inventory * Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory organization * Answer phone calls and assist with customer questions * Process sales, returns, and special orders accurately * Resolve customer concerns professionally and thoughtfully * Support operations at both San Antonio locations as needed Who We 're Looking For * Friendly, outgoing, and professional * Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented * Comfortable working with children, parents, and dance professionals * Willing to learn specialized product knowledge and fitting skills * A team player who takes pride in their work * Flexible and open to working between two locations Schedule & Availability (Required) * Evening and Saturday availability is required * Store hours: * Monday-Thursday: open until 7:00 PM * Friday & Saturday: open until 5:00 PM * Shifts typically include 30 minutes after closing * 8-hour shifts available * Must be able to reliably commute within San Antonio (78232 and 78209 area) Experience (Preferred, Not Required) * 1+ year retail or sales experience * Dance background or familiarity with dance apparel and footwear Job Details * Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time * Location: In-person (San Antonio, TX) * Must be willing to work between two store locations Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour Application Question(s): * Are you able and willing to work most Saturdays as stated in this job posting? * How many evenings per week can you consistently commit to? * Are you interested in developing skills and longevity in specialty retail, or is this a short-term role for you?
