Purpose The primary role of the District Sales Manager is to lead sales and marketing efforts and support rebar fabrication customers within the Houston market. This role is responsible for quoting and securing business, providing forecasts, and recommending new business opportunities and customers. The District Sales Manager supports strategic growth and commercial excellence initiatives and is expected to promote cooperation and teamwork across sales, estimating, and operations. This position requires extensive travel and face-to-face interaction with customers. The candidate must be able to drive and travel within the assigned region or market as required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Basic Job Functions * Provide industry-leading customer service. * Serve as a forward-facing representative of a leading steel producer to win work and understand customer business needs. * Prospect for new business opportunities within the Houston market. * Build and maintain strong customer relationships and rapport. * Work interactively with Inside Sales and Estimating teams to support quoting and sales activities. * Operate as a liaison between customers and fabrication operations. * Establish annual sales plans for the assigned market in collaboration with sales leadership. * Proactively solve problems to help achieve and exceed revenue, shipment, and profitability goals. * Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time independently. * Collaborate with other sales departments, regions, and sales support teams to support business objectives. * Proactively support and drive organizational change, recognizing that continuous improvement is essential. Minimum Requirements * Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. * Sales or marketing experience in the steel industry. * Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region. * Willingness to proactively pursue sales leads and new business opportunities. Preferences * Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, development, and profitability. * Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes. * Basic knowledge of contracts, standard business practices, and human relations. Special Demands * Work schedule may include hours beyond the normal business day. * Extensive travel and face-to-face customer interaction required; candidate must be able to drive and travel within the Houston market. * Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding customer and management information.
