Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Market Development Manager to drive sales expansion into major U.S. retail chains , build strong buyer relationships, and develop go-to-market strategies to accelerate growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and has proven success launching and scaling consumer brands in the U.S. retail market.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with major U.S. retail chains
• Present products and negotiate with buyers and key decision-makers
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitors to shape strategy
• Develop and execute market expansion plans (new channels, segments, product launches)
• Build and manage relationships with distributors, retailers, and strategic partners
• Prepare sales forecasts, manage pipelines, and report progress
• Track performance (sales, revenue, market share) and propose improvements
• Represent the brand at trade shows and industry events as the U.S. face of the company
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to support launches and business growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of sales / business development experience
• Direct sales experience with U.S. retail chains (Ex:
• Erewhon, Bristol Farms, Kroger, Safeway, Vons, Sprouts, Walmart, Costco, Target, and more)
• Food & beverage / consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience strongly preferred
• Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Japanese language skills are a plus (not required)
