Rutabaga Paddlesports is the premier paddlesports and outdoor gear store in Wisconsin, but also the greater midwest. We emphasize kayaks and canoes, but have the requisite gear for all outdoor seasons. We are locally owned and are well known for our exceptional knowledge, our hospitality, and our willingness to go above and beyond for every customer that steps through our doors. We're seeking a hands-on Assistant Sales Manager that will offer exceptional customer service, but also help in guiding staff through day-to-day responsibilities while also maintaining a key-holder position. We don't have typical retail hours, but Saturday availability is critical to the success of the position. Key Responsibilities: * Assist customers through the purchasing process as a model sales floor associate * Ensure smooth daily operations across sales and service * Assign and develop projects to staff members * Open the store and set the tone for the day; close the store after everyone has headed home * Foster a culture of customer service, fun, and professionalism What we 're looking for: * Proven experience in leadership skills * Retail experience with emphasis in customer service * A passion for the outdoors and getting more people out there * Outdoor or paddlesports industry knowledge preferred, but not required Benefits: * $23-25 hourly wage * Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance * Generous Paid-Time-Off, as well as a flexible schedule * Significant employee discounts * A supportive and team-oriented culture Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
