Job Title: Sales Representative Reports To: General Manager Job Purpose The Sales Representative's primary role is to provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer, boosting top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability. Duties and Responsibilities The Sales Representative will identify potential customers, sell the company's products to customers using solid arguments, and maintain positive business relationships to ensure future sales. The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following: * Follow all company policies and procedures. * Use networking and research tools to identify and qualify potential new customers. * Develop working knowledge of the company's products and understanding of how those products are utilized/applied. * Complete internal documentation, as needed, to ensure accurate quoting of customer required products. * Close sales with customers and follow-up on completed sales to ensure customer satisfaction. * Develop and maintain solid business relationships with existing customers to understand their needs. * Maintain adequate customer contact records, including tracking phone/email/in-person calls with each. * Participate in training sessions, meetings, and conferences, as required. Qualifications * Prior knowledge of corrugated packaging or related industries is required. * Familiarity with the market conditions in the assigned territory is required. * Ability to react promptly to changes and to identify and solve basic problems. * Working knowledge of MS Office and other business software. * A strong analytical mindset and outstanding organizational skills are helpful. * 2-4 year degree in business is preferred. Working Conditions This position will spend most of the time meeting with assigned customer accounts at the customer's facility or by telephone. Travel to/from/between customers will occur daily. The incumbent will need to spend time daily processing paperwork at the corporate offices, a home office, or from a remote location. Overnight travel rarely occurs and would be limited to when attending a trade show. Physical Requirements Physical Demand Description Stationary Position Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g. sit, stand, etc.). Move/Traverse The person in this position needs to regularly move about to meet with customers. Operate This person must operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Move/Transport Must have reliable transportation and can travel to/from/between customer accounts. In addition, this person may be asked to make small deliveries to their assigned customer accounts. Communicate The person in this position frequently communicates with production and office staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Inspect Must be able to inspect goods and customer locations, as needed. Decision Making On a regular and continuous basis, exercises judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, sales, and/or quality of service at assigned customer accounts. Direct Reports This position does not have any direct reports, however, it will utilize internal Customer Service staff to complete assigned tasks, as needed.
