As a Junior Sales Representative, you will primarily work independently in the field to develop new business, expand existing accounts, and drive sales growth across your assigned territory. You will regularly visit retail locations to promote and sell the company's products, secure orders, strengthen relationships, and execute sales-driven field initiatives that support product visibility and market penetration. You will exercise discretion in managing your territory, identifying opportunities, planning customer engagements, and gathering market insights that directly influence sales strategy. You will represent the brand as an outside salesperson, maintain a consistent presence in the field, and contribute to achieving revenue targets and commission-based incentives. Duties/Responsibilities Outside Sales & Account Management * Work primarily in the field, away from the Company's place of business, to visit established retail accounts and generate sales through relationship management, product promotion, and onsite selling activities. * Manage and grow an assigned book of business by planning weekly visit routes, prioritizing accounts, and scheduling store meetings to support revenue goals. * Conduct needs assessments with existing customers to identify opportunities for expanded orders, additional placements, and increased sell-through. * Present product offerings, secure purchase commitments, and negotiate physical product placements within established accounts to meet sales and commission objectives. * Maintain strong relationships with retail partners through consistent communication, regular in-person visits, and proactive account support. Sales-Driven Field Marketing Execution (Within Existing Accounts) * Execute in-store merchandising and retail standards during account visits, ensuring visibility and product accessibility to drive sell-through and order consistency. * Provide budtender education, product trainings, and promotional walk-throughs--where permitted--to reinforce product knowledge and strengthen brand advocacy. * Implement field-level promotional initiatives designed to increase sales within existing accounts, coordinating materials and verifying effective execution. * Capture field insights, photos, inventory levels, and competitive information that directly inform account strategies and sales planning. Sales Reporting, Planning & Coordination * Prepare concise and accurate sales activity reports, account updates, and territory recaps for Sales leadership. * Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to address account needs, align promotional efforts, and improve customer experience. * Attend scheduled sales meetings, remote check-ins, and required training while maintaining strong independent performance in the field. * Conduct regular audits of store menus, competitive pricing benchmarks, in stock and promotional pass throughs, and provide recommendations based on client feedback. Brand Representation * Represent the Company professionally during account visits, trade events, industry functions, and any sanctioned field activities. * Maintain current product knowledge and stay informed of industry trends, competitive behavior, and field marketing best practices that support revenue objectives. Requirements * Must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation; must meet state driving and residency requirements. * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Prior experience in sales, customer service, cannabis, hospitality, or production environments preferred but not required. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with a dependable and professional demeanor. * Highly organized with strong time-management, multitasking, and follow-through abilities to manage an independent field schedule. * Ability to receive feedback, stay accountable, and work both independently and collaboratively. * Basic computer and smartphone proficiency, including email, word processing, and messaging applications. * Familiarity with CRM systems preferred. * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 40-50 lbs of samples, displays, and merchandising materials. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-driven environment with frequent travel to retail accounts. The hiring range for this position in California is $40,000 per year plus participation in the Sales Department 's Commission Program. The base pay actually offered will take into account the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
