Overview Modern Machining, a specialized division of Action Staffing , is seeking a Staffing-focused Business Development professional to help expand our presence within U.S. manufacturing and industrial companies. This is not a general sales role. This position is responsible for developing new client relationships with: * Manufacturers * Machine shops * Industrial facilities by offering staffing and recruiting solutions for Controls & Automation, CNC, Maintenance, Engineering, and skilled manufacturing roles. We are intentionally seeking candidates with prior staffing, recruiting, or workforce solutions experience - specially those familiar with manufacturing, industrial, technical, or skilled labor environments. Who This Role Is For This role is a strong fit if you have experience in: * Staffing & recruiting sales (agency or in-house) * Manufacturing, industrial, or technical staffing * Medical, IT, engineering, or skilled labor staffing * High-volume temp or industrial labor staffing You enjoy: * Prospecting and consistent follow-up * Managing deal cycles that require persistence and organization * Speaking with operational and technical decision-makers * Earning commission based on signed client agreements , not just activity If you prefer purely inbound sales, transactional selling, or very short-cycle deals, this role will not be a fit. Key Responsibilities * Develop new business relationships with manufacturing and industrial companies * Prospect and engage Operations Managers, Plant Managers, Engineering Leaders, HR, and Ownership * Conduct consistent outbound outreach (cold + warm) via phone, email, and CRM-driven activity * Leverage an existing book of warm prospects while continuously building new pipeline * Educate prospects on Modern Machining's niche staffing capabilities within manufacturing * Manage opportunities from first conversation through signed staffing agreements * Maintain accurate CRM records, notes, and follow-up activity * Collaborate closely with recruiting and leadership teams to align client needs with candidate pipelines * Build long-term client relationships that extend beyond a single requisition What We 're Specifically Looking For Required: * Prior experience in staffing, recruiting, or workforce solutions * Outbound business development or sales experience * Comfort speaking with manufacturing, industrial, or operations-focused clients * Strong follow-up habits and personal accountability * Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience Strongly Preferred: * Experience selling staffing services into manufacturing or industrial environments * Familiarity with roles such as: * Controls Engineers / Automation Technicians * CNC Machinists / Programmers * Maintenance Technicians * Manufacturing Engineers * Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Bullhorn, or similar) Working Styles & Traits That Succeed Here This role is best suited for someone who: * Follows up when others stop * Stays organized and consistent without constant oversight * Doesn't get discouraged when deals take weeks or months to develop * Enjoys "staying on the hunt" until the deal closes * Takes pride in seeing things through to completion Why Modern Machining / Action Staffing * 25+ years of staffing experience through Action Staffing * Specialized manufacturing vertical via Modern Machining - not generalist staffing * Real sales responsibility with clear ownership of accounts * Supportive leadership with realistic expectations and ramp support Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Disability insurance * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Paid time off * Tuition reimbursement * Vision insurance Experience: * Customer service: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: * Lebanon, OH 45036 (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: * Lebanon, OH 45036: Relocate before starting work (Preferred) Work Location: In person
