Counter Sales Associate The Counter Sales Representative provides excellent customer service and support to customers. Individuals in this position interface with customers daily, relaying accurate information on products, pricing, and stock availability. As an extension of the inside sales effort, the Counter Sales representative is responsible for building and maintaining business relationships with customers and prospects. Job Responsibilities include: * Timely greets customers and completes orders by filling, checking and processing; assures transactional accuracy at point of sale. * Accurately pulling, checking, and locating parts/products. Assists at Will-Call when needed. * Handles incoming customer returns and daily restocks material that is not sold. * Identifies inventory errors and discrepancies, alerts management to non-conformance issues. * Provide customer solutions and troubleshooting by understanding and diagnosing customer needs, provides basic technical support. * Builds key relationships with both external customers and internal employees. * Ability to maintain and grow with product and industry knowledge. * Assists in maintaining a neat and professional counter area, including general housekeeping as needed. * Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products. Occasionally performs the same activities with product weighing up to 70 pounds. Typically bends, stoops and/or crouches on a regular basis from various heights to stock or deliver products to a customer. NOTE: if assigned to the construction product area, frequently lifts, caries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing 75+ pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading * Operates forklift: proper training and certification required. May also use material handling equipment (including pallet jack, dollies, handcart & conveyor). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * High School Diploma, GED or military equivalent. * Two or more years work experience in warehouse operations or customer service required, previous industry experience and/or electrical sales experience is a plus. * Excellent communications skills with the ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner. * Ability to work with minimal supervision, organizing, prioritizing and completion of tasks. * Customer focused, with a continuous commitment to customer service. * Basic computer skills which include knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products. * Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) EEO/AA/M/F/Vet/Disability Employer The above statements are intended to describe the essential functions and related requirements of persons assigned to this job.
