Southern California Sales Manager Friendly Brand - California Compensation & Benefits * Base Salary: $75,000 annually * Bonuses: TBD * Employment: Full-time, subject to a 90-day probationary period Reports to Director of Sales Position Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting the sales team to drive consistent revenue growth and ensure excellent execution at every account. This role manages scheduling, routing, and operational coordination of the sales team, oversees all sales orders , and ensures sell-through strategies are executed properly at store level. The Sales Manager acts as the bridge between leadership, sales reps, and active accounts to create smooth communication, accountability, and results. Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Coordination * Create weekly / monthly schedules and territory routing for the sales team. * Ensure outside reps are visiting active accounts at the appropriate cadence (30/40/50 visits depending on tier). * Track sales KPIs and ensure team members hit their weekly visit, demo, and order goals. * Host weekly sales meetings to review performance, challenges, priorities, and strategy. * Provide coaching, support, and accountability to sales reps. Sales Order Management * Responsible for all incoming sales orders from the team. * Ensure orders are accurate, properly submitted, and aligned with inventory availability. * Coordinate closely with operations, packaging, and distribution to confirm order fulfillment. * Track order status and ensure clear communication with reps & accounts. * Identify sell-through opportunities and follow-up orders from previous deals. Routing & Territory Management * Optimize routing for maximum efficiency and lowest miles per order. * Update routes weekly based on account status, traffic, inventory, and deal windows. * Assign territories and ensure coverage across all key markets. * Maintain store visit cadence tiers (A/B/C accounts) and ensure follow-ups are executed. Sales Strategy & Execution * Support implementation of sell-through strategy at active accounts. * Ensure staff training, demo scheduling, deal assets, in-store materials, and follow-up emails are completed. * Assist in launching promotions, BOGOs, new SKUs, and seasonal campaigns. * Track performance at every store to identify growth opportunities & risks. * Provide reporting to leadership on weekly wins, challenges, and next steps. Communication & Reporting * Maintain consistent communication between sales, operations, and leadership. * Provide weekly performance reports and order recaps. * Document meetings, staff feedback, inventory needs, and account insights. * Support implementation of CRM tools (HubSpot / JotForm / Badger Maps / etc.) for tracking activities and KPIs. Skills & Traits Needed * Strong leadership & communication skills * Highly organized and detail-oriented * Experience managing territories and sales routing * Understanding of metrics, KPIs, and sales performance tracking * Comfortable holding the team accountable while staying supportive * Problem-solver who can adjust quickly to changing priorities * Clear communicator with internal teams and accounts * Sales-focused mindset: every visit and email should create an opportunity Performance Metrics (KPIs) * Number of sales orders per week/month * Weekly visit totals and territory coverage * Sell-through tracking on promotional deals * Timeliness & accuracy of order submissions * Execution of follow-ups (training, demos, deal assets, etc.) * Revenue growth per territory / per rep Minimum Qualifications * Valid California Driver 's License with a clean driving record * Reliable vehicle suitable for regular travel within assigned territories * 3+ years of sales experience , preferably in field sales, account management, or territory management * 1 -2 years of leadership or team coordination experience (Sales Manager, Lead Sales Rep, Shift Lead, or similar) * Strong understanding of sales processes , order management, and customer relationship building * Experience using CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred) for tracking activities, reporting, and managing pipelines * Experience with routing or territory management tools (Badger Maps, Onfleet, or similar) Skills & Competencies * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Highly organized with strong attention to detail * Ability to create and optimize team schedules and routes * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly * Comfortable holding team members accountable while providing support * Ability to interpret sales metrics and create action plans * Strong time management and planning abilities * Self-motivated with a high sense of ownership and responsibility Work Environment Requirements * Must be able to travel regularly for store visits, meetings, and team support * Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds (samples, demo materials, etc.) * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly shifting environment * Must be available for occasional weekend or evening events (demos, promotions, launches) Preferred Qualifications * Experience in cannabis sales, CPG sales, or retail distribution * Prior management of a field sales team * Experience coordinating in-store demos, trainings, or staff activations * Strong knowledge of California retail markets Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Work Location: RemoteFriendly Brand
