With a commitment to growth and excellence, our dynamic Business Development Manager will drive business development and strengthen our market presence within assigned territories and specified strategic accounts. Position Overview: The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers. This role involves a blend of prospecting, sales presentations, negotiations, estimating, and post-sale follow-ups. The ideal Business Development Manager will possess a strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the company's services. Position Objective: The Business Development Manager is responsible for maintaining and developing our existing customer base. Prospect and add new customers. Our Business Development Manager are responsible for overseeing and executing sales strategies within an assigned territory, or assigned group of customers, to achieve revenue targets and enhance customer satisfaction. Responsible for cultivating strong customer relationships and working closely with ABR's operations team to align objectives with overall company goals. This is an in- office and remote position; the ideal Business Development Manager must be able to travel to make sales calls. Primary Responsibilities 1. Prospecting and Lead Generation * Lead Generation: Identify and target potential customers through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events. This identification process can be done through Self-Storage and Third-Party Management sectors using tools like ZoomInfo. LinkedIn, trade show attendance lists and leads. ABR has identified tiers of prospective customers, and the BDM will work within all three tiers identified. * Direct communication with customers regarding Sales, existing orders, estimates and follow-up activities. * Stay up to date with internal and external developments and suggest new ways to increase sales. * Outreach Execution: Execute high-volume, professional proactive calls, proactive emails, and targeted outreach to qualify prospects and set initial meetings. * Trade Show Follow-up: Own the follow-up process for all trade show and marketing leads, transforming raw contact lists into actionable sales opportunities. 2. Sales Estimating - Proposals * Meet with customers to conduct in-depth needs assessments and present tailored solutions to prospective customers. * Work with our Operations & Estimating teams to make sure that estimates are developed that address customer needs and demonstrate the value of the company's services. 3. Negotiating and Closing * Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with customers to secure deals and close sales. * Address and overcome objections, ensuring that customer concerns are resolved effectively. Customer Relationship Management * "Touch Point Tracker" Create and manage personal tracker. * Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers. * Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales process and post-sale. * Communicate with major customers on a regular basis and respond to specific queries. * Suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet customer needs. * Work with Operations team to handle complaints and problems in a timely and efficient manner. * Act as the liaison between key customers and internal teams. Checking schedules, start dates and confirming they are accurate and providing the information to the customer. * Estimate cost impacts related to design changes during project execution, working closely with project teams to create needed "Change Orders". 5. Other Responsibilities: * Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and sales targets to ensure goals will be met. * Achieve assigned strategic account objectives. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and forecasts. * Attend internal sales meetings. * Participate in networking events with industry groups. * Participate in Trade Shows, locally, regionally and nationally. * Other Duties as assigned. Qualifications: Experience: Previous sales experience, preferably in a similar industry or role, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels. Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of sales performance metrics and analytics. Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required. Attributes: Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Work Environment: This role requires regular travel to meet with customers and attend industry events. Reports To: VP of Business Development Compensation: This is a commission-based role with a non-recoverable draw of $55,000-$60,000 annually, depending on relevant experience. The draw is paid bi-weekly as an advance against earned commissions.
