About the Role: The Used Car Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire used vehicle department within an automotive dealership, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing inventory acquisition, pricing strategies, and sales processes to maximize turnover and margins. The manager will lead and develop a team of sales professionals, fostering a high- performance culture focused on meeting and exceeding sales targets. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with other dealership departments such as finance, service, and marketing to create seamless customer experiences. Ultimately, the Used Car Manager drives the success of the used car division by balancing operational efficiency with exceptional customer service. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred. * Minimum of 3 years experience in automotive sales, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role. * Strong knowledge of used car market dynamics, pricing strategies, and inventory management. * Proven ability to lead and develop a sales team to meet or exceed targets. * Familiarity with automotive sales software and dealership management systems. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in a dealership environment within the United States. * Certification in automotive sales or management (e.g., NADA Academy or similar). * Demonstrated success in negotiating vehicle purchases and sales. * Strong understanding of vehicle financing and insurance products. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach. Responsibilities: * Manage daily operations of the used car department, including inventory procurement, pricing, merchandising, and sales. * Lead, train, and motivate the used car sales team to achieve individual and departmental sales goals. * Analyze market trends and competitor activity to adjust pricing and marketing strategies accordingly. * Coordinate with finance and insurance departments to facilitate smooth transaction processes for customers. * Maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, auction houses, and private sellers to source quality used vehicles. * Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and dealership policies related to used vehicle sales. * Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to track department performance and profitability. * Implement customer service initiatives to enhance buyer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
