Position Summary The Sales Applications Technician supports the Applications Engineering Manager by organizing and executing machine test cuts, demos, and time studies while also delivering software demonstrations and training. This role serves as a key technical support partner to the Sales team, ensuring customer demos are professional, well-prepared, and technically sound. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that blends machine setup, application problem-solving, and software training (including PatternPro). The Sales Applications Technician helps maintain demo equipment and spaces in a customer-ready state and plays an important role in showcasing Eastman's capabilities to prospective customers. This position reports directly to the Applications Engineering Manager. Key Responsibilities Test Cuts, Time Studies & Demos * Coordinate with Sales to prioritize and schedule customer test cuts. * Communicate directly with customers to confirm materials, files, and expectations. * Perform customized test cuts and time studies tailored to customer applications. * Produce professional test cut deliverables including reports, videos, cover letters, and samples as required. * Recommend appropriate machines, tools, and configurations based on customer needs. * Share customer insights and technical findings with Sales and internal teams. * Assist with and participate in in-person and virtual demos. Software Applications & Training * Conduct software demos and training sessions for customers and internal users. * Teach PatternPro and related design and nesting software. * Perform file testing and application validation as part of the sales process. * Develop and maintain training materials, documentation, and instructional videos. * Support customer onboarding and ongoing application questions. Machine Setup, Maintenance & Organization * Prepare demo machines for customer visits, ensuring they are operational, calibrated, and presentable. * Maintain demo room and R&D areas in a clean, organized, and professional condition. * Organize demo materials, tooling, and machine components. * Assist with basic machine and software troubleshooting to support uninterrupted demos. Documentation & Cross-Functional Support * Assist in creating PM kits, training documentation, and internal resources. * Work with the Tech Service team on assignments as directed. * Participate occasionally in installations, service calls, and trade shows. * Provide organizational and project support to the Applications Engineering Manager. Qualifications * Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Technology, or related field. * 1+ years of experience in customer service, sales support, applications, or technical training. * Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. * AutoCAD experience required. * Comfortable learning and teaching software applications. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive. * Comfortable working directly with customers and cross-functional teams. * Willing to travel approximately 10 -15% of the year.
