Inside Sales Assistant: Star Foods, Inc, a leader for over 43 years, is in the business of buying excess, overstocked & discontinued food inventories. We redistribute these viable items to feeding organizations, discount retailers, correctional facilities, and many other food processors. Our extensive database of end-user customers allows us to quickly and efficiently move these inventories from the Manufacturer to our client base. We are seeking experienced, motivated individuals to join our team and assist us with our continued growth. Job Description: The inside Sales/Assistant will be part of a team that will contact new & existing contacts to generate additional sales opportunities for themselves and the sales team. In addition, making new contacts outside our current client database for prospective new clients is a must. In addition to sales calls, the candidate will request rates and assist our transportation team and partners in moving these inventories to our customer base. These tasks are achieved by synchronizing efforts with other departments in the organization to facilitate the buying/selling process. These operations include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities: Responsibilities: * Achieve sales targets by managing new & existing accounts * Project competency and confidence when working with different channels of our clients & vendors * Continuously research new customer/client opportunities * Partner with a network of support functions both inside and outside of Star Foods (including other departments, logistical support, and online research tools) to address the current and future needs of customers * Contribute to the development and identification of growth opportunities Qualifications: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must * Ability to work in a fast-paced, rewarding atmosphere * Previous experience with computer databases preferred * Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including ownership, management, co-workers, customers, and vendors * Must be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks * A self-starter who can multitask, with awareness of deadlines * The Sales role includes working before, during, and after regular scheduled business hours * Previous experience working in food sales or distribution/customer service preferred * Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Reports to: Sales Manager/Ownership * Salary + Commission-based position * 401K and Health coverage available * Full-Time position * M-F 8:15 am-5:15 pm (Friday Summer Hrs: 8:15 am - 4 PM) * Paid Holidays * Some travel (trade shows) may be required * Remote working is not applicable Email Resume & Salary requirement to: Jobs at starfoods dot com IS-1726 Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year Benefits: * Health insurance Experience: * being in the food industry: 3 years (Preferred) * sales (food oriented): 5 years (Required) Work Location: In person
