Full description of the position
Audubon is currently seeking a Project Director to join our team in our Tulsa, OK Office. The Project Director will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of a series of projects within a designated customer account, market space, or geographic area in concert with the company's strategy, commitments and goals. The primary focus of the Project Director is on customer relationships. The Project Director does not give directions to team members, except through the Project Manager(s), unless the Project Director is acting as the Project Manager on a specific project. This position reports to the Director of Projects to an assigned Business Line Vice President/Manager. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES*: * Manages the strategic aspects of large engagements with multiple projects and mitigates any risk. * Oversees Senior Project Managers and Project Management Teams working on customer projects. * Reviews high-level deliverables across the projects. * Ensures quality assurance procedures take place for all projects. * Provides leadership to project teams within a customer account, market segment or geographic area. * Develops, implements, and maintains sound business practices. * Develops and implements strategic objectives for his/her team that are aligned with the Business Unit's strategic initiatives. * Reports profit and loss figures for his/her assigned area of responsibility. * Consolidates and analyzes profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization across his/her assigned area of responsibility. * Helps create project forecasts and the broad-based financial picture for assigned area. * Addresses and resolves all billing issues. * Ensures assigned area meets or exceeds budgeted financial objectives, including revenue and margin. * In coordination with the Director of Projects, manages the development of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers. * Achieves excellence in all areas of business. * Champions change and effectively manages the implementation of new ideas. * Reinforces team approach on both customer projects and internal initiatives. * Supports and solicits input from team members at all levels within the organization. * Develops and meets revenue and other financial goals for assigned area. * Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization across assigned area. * Manages the negotiation of contract pricing when necessary. * Reviews status reports of Project Managers and Senior Managers and addresses issues as appropriate. * Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces. * Enforces standard policies and procedures. Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities: * All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes: * Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety * Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities * Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions * Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS*: * Minimum of an Associate's Degree AND 15 years of Relative Experience, or Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of Relative Experience. * Education/ Licensure Preferred: BS Engineering, MBA, Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE) License. * Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years of industry related experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager. * Experience Preferred: 15 years of experience as the Lead Engineer on large multi-discipline projects, Project Engineer and/or Project Manager. * Communicates effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies. * Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships. * Maintains lasting customer relationships. * Ensures assigned teams deliver superior solutions to customers. * Provides senior level resolution to customer issues. * In coordination with Business Development, provides leadership and guidance in all aspects of the sales cycle with existing customers. * In coordination with Business Development, identifies and develops strategic accounts. * Grows long-term relationships with customers and capitalizes on partnership opportunities.
