Company Summary : Medical device company develops innovative, disposable technology for the bedside management of fluid collections in body cavities. At present, the technology is predominantly being used in trauma care with expansion to other specialties (e.g., pulmonology, CT surgery) in process. By managing fluid collections non-operatively, the technology enables patients and hospitals to avoid high costs, extended hospital stays, and complications associated with surgery. Our company is rapidly growing and is seeking motivated individuals to join the team. Position Summary: The Vice President of Sales provides strategic vision and hands-on leadership to drive sales performance and organizational growth. This executive role oversees all sales functions--direct, indirect, and distributor channels--along with company leadership. The VP of Sales develops and executes comprehensive sales strategies, sets clear performance objectives, and ensures alignment with the company's broader goals. This individual will lead by example, spending significant time in the field with sales representatives and customers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. This is a full-time, permanent, salaried position that can be performed remotely, with periodic travel to our easily-accessible, mid-Atlantic headquarters. The specific roles and responsibilities include those listed below. Duties and Responsibilities*: * Provide strategic and operational leadership in developing and executing sales plans across direct and distributor sales environments * Set specific sales objectives for the overall organization and for individual sales representatives * Establish and monitor performance metrics, reporting regularly to the CEO and leadership team on progress and results * Hold team members accountable for achieving performance expectations * Communicate and champion our company's vision, inspiring and recognizing excellence within the sales organization * Lead by personal example, modeling commitment, professionalism, and results-driven behavior * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of key customers, market trends, competitors, and emerging strategies within the medical device industry * Build and sustain relationships with key opinion leaders and major accounts * Spend substantial time in the field with sales personnel and customers to reinforce strategy and gather insights * Collaborate with the CEO to identify and execute market growth opportunities * Develop and manage the annual operating budget for the sales organization, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives * Maintain deep understanding of company products, markets, pricing strategy, and customer base * Make presentations, as needed, to potential customers not limited to physician leaders and value analysis / supply chain personnel * Contribute to the creation and refinement of sales support materials, including brochures, guides, and presentations * Serve as a key member of the Executive Team, representing the Sales Organization to the CEO, Board, and other stakeholders * Identify, cultivate and, where appropriate, negotiate strategic industry relationships with the goal of enhancing market penetration * Perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO Skills/ Qualifications*: * Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree or specialized sales training preferred * 10+ years of successful sales management experience in a growth-oriented environment, including at least 5 years in medical device product sales * Minimum 3 years of experience in sales of disposable medical devices for trauma surgery, pulmonology, and/or cardiothoracic surgery * Proven success managing both in-house and field sales teams, as well as dealer/distributor partnerships * Demonstrated history of achieving sales quotas and executing tactical sales plans effectively * History of executing industry partnerships and supporting M&A activities Other details : * Full-time role * Travel 65-80% to locations domestic and international * Remote role, but preferably located in Washington, DC Metro area or Raleigh/Durham, NC Our company is an equal opportunity employer.
