Full description of the position

Job Title: Advertising Sales Representative

Position Summary

The Advertising Sales Representative will be responsible for generating and growing print and digital advertising revenue for a respected medical publishing company. This individual will work directly with healthcare organizations to understand what they want to promote and help them reach doctors through effective, well-placed advertising. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to build lasting client relationships are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing advertisers
  • Sell print, digital, and sponsored content opportunities, as applicable
  • Present media kits, rate cards, and customized advertising proposals
  • Understand advertiser objectives and recommend effective placements and packages
  • Interprets digital analytics to assess ad performance and share data-driven insights with advertisers
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from outreach and negotiation to insertion orders and renewals
  • Coordinate with editorial and design teams to ensure accurate ad placement and deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, accounts, contracts, and communications
  • Stay informed about industry trends, advertiser categories, and competitors
  • Represent the company professionally at events

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in advertising sales, media sales, or B2B sales (magazine and/or digital publishing experience is preferred; health care media experience is a plus)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build long-term client relationships
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with print and digital advertising formats
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, spreadsheets, and email communication
  • Understanding of audience-driven marketing is a plus

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience (media or advertising preferred)

Compensation & Work Structure

  • Base salary plus commission 
  • Bonus opportunities for exceeding sales targets
  • This is a fully remote position (except for any meeting attendance, TBD)
