Full description of the position
Position Scope: Create comprehensive selections of HVAC components to articulate SEMCO design of Energy Recovery Units (ERU) and Air Handler Units (AHU) and other related products, to facilitate custom solutions for our Representative, Engineers and Owners interested in purchasing SEMCO equipment for their HVAC requirements. Major Responsibilities: * Develop cost effective preliminary designs which best comply with shop fabrication methods and capability and meet product management and engineering criteria, which satisfy the demands of the project scope of work. * Communicate with SEMCO Outside Sales to obtain any required information for accurate general arrangement drawings and performance specs which meet the customers' requirements * Provide technical support for Outside Sales regarding feasibility of design criteria. * Interpret plans, submittals, order write ups and purchasing requisitions to reach conclusions and decisions which represent Semco's best interest. Resolve any discrepancies in specifications, submittals, order write ups and purchasing documentation. Coordinate with Product Sourcing to utilize existing inventory for fiscal management. Major Tasks: * Create product selections based on custom performance requirements. * Develop a selections package to be incorporated in the Customer quote identifying system performance. * Troubleshoot plans & specs for errors in design criteria stemming from the Rep and ask clarifying questions. * Mastery of Microsoft Excel for use in equipment selections. * Maintain Sales drawing & selections files. * Provide design support to Outside Sales Associates Description of Authority: * All tasks listed above to be performed under regular guidance and instruction from the department manager. Major Organization Interfaces/Interactions: * Product Development * Engineering * Sourcing * Operations Position Qualifications: * Proficiency with AutoCAD program. * Ability to utilize CRM software (Zoho). * Ability to read drawings and specs. * Proficiency with Excel * Basic knowledge of SEMCO product and manufacturing processes. * Personal computer skills required to utilize Microsoft Windows. * Technical school training in drafting technology or equivalent experience. * Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) is preferred.
