THE POSITION: STACK is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer to lead technical sales engagements with our clients. In this role, you will utilize your engineering and design knowledge to create solutions that align with our clients' needs. This position presents a demanding opportunity in a dynamic environment, requiring strong interpersonal skills to effectively gather and share information with both internal and external stakeholders. You will report directly to the Vice President of Solutions Engineering. You will be responsible for formulating a technical solution and building a consensus with the project. This role requires a thorough understanding and experience with AI, ML, and the mechanical and electrical systems to support them. You will have comprehensive engagement with our development team in evaluating land inventory and acquisitions, utility interconnection, entitlements, timelines, and budgets. Additionally, you will work closely with the client to understand their needs, coordinate with our construction and engineering teams, and manage all technical elements of the contract. THE ROLE: * Manage relationships with data center technical subject matter experts. * Be the "Engineering Lead" - fielding solutions to meet customer requirements: * You are the "Data Center Expert" with a deep understanding of building design, construction, and operation. * You are the STACK expert who can overcome deal friction by designing solutions which gain organizational alignment. * Manage and direct communication from internal and external stakeholders. * Improve client engagement and articulate complex solutions. * Lead Client engagements, sales presentations and technical demonstrations. * Lead the response to RFP's and RFI's. * Apply your expertise to the technical review of leases and exhibit creation. * Stay up to speed with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices. THE DETAILS: * Location: Within 60 minutes of ANY STACK Data Center, Denver or San Francisco * Travel: 40-60% * Compensation: $250,000 annually * Must be eligible to work in the United States * Must pass comprehensive background screening. MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum of 15 years of experience providing technical data center engineering solutions * Deep expertise in Data Center Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. * Direct design experience establishing infrastructure to support Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (direct-to-chip, immersion, coldplate). * CDU selection. * Secondary fluid network design and resiliency. * ASHRAE considerations. * GPU operating profile. * Programmatic understanding of property development and construction. * Understanding of data center infrastructure design and construction techniques, operational requirements and challenges, data center fit-out projects, equipment and technology advances and general industry trends. * Understanding of the technical sales process and working with technical buyers and site selection teams for data center users. * Capable of determining electrical and mechanical data center solutions and leading technical conversations. * Bachelor's degree in a data center engineering or related discipline. * Ability to prioritize workload and attention in a rapidly changing environment. * Strong application software skills including MS Office, AutoCAD, Revu, CFD. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Proven self-starter with attention to detail. * Strong initiative with the ability to drive to closure THIS MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF: * You're a strong and clear communicator, blending analytics with real-world experience in decision-making. * Enjoy working hard. * You can juggle multiple priorities while balancing urgent requests with shifting timelines and deliverables. * You're a teambuilder.
