PMC Industries, Inc., home of AceClamp , located in Plainville CT is seeking a creative and driven professional who wants to make a positive impact by joining our team in the position of Sales/Construction Engineer. AceClamp is an ISO certified market-leading manufacturer of rooftop snow retention and solar mounting systems. Our lab-tested mounting systems help save contractors time and money by offering fully assembled clamps and component groups, simplifying the installation process, and reducing overall labor costs. We are seeking a civil, mechanical, construction or electrical engineer to join our team with experience in building and/or roofing systems. We are looking for a creative, intelligent, and driven professional who wants to make a positive impact and help grow our product line. This individual will play a key role in facilitating new product development as well as supporting the sales team and assisting customers with technical inquiries related to our manufactured products. Individual will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, reading blueprints, and providing technical solutions to meet their needs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION * Perform engineering analysis, including structural calculations of roofs for company products, in accordance with applicable building codes and standards. * Support Sales Staff in performing preliminary project analysis, estimating material take-offs, and responding to technical questions. * Create layout mockups and drawings for project proposals as requested. * Have a command of roofing best practices. * Good understanding of solar mounting technology to help in the further development of AceClamp mounting products, including the SolarSnap system. * Coordinate all product testing, both in-house as well as at designated testing facilities (UL, FM, Thielsch, PRI, Intertek, etc.) * Participate in planning new products for the market. Propose, design and validate new manufacturing processes. * Owner's engineering design review and input to new product ideas. * Draft technical articles, white papers as needed for trade journals. Solar market research, including market analysis, solar industry trends, PV technologies trends, opportunities, customer pain points. * Participate in product campaign at trade shows and conferences to promote all AceClamp products. * Engage downstream customers with sales training, webinars, workshops, etc. on both Solar and Snow Retention products. * Create and/or maintain requested quality documentation and installation instructions. Ensure timely resolution of customer failures, corrective actions and preventive actions. * Collect voice of the customer, perform field study, and document market requirements. * Represent AceClamp by participating in industry organizations at various levels. * Work with Marketing to coordinate details of trade show booths and advertising. Qualifications: * Understanding of roofing best practices, construction, mechanical design. PV mounting technology with knowledge of the overall Solar industry. Experience designing residential PV solar systems a plus. * Excellent organizational skills to manage time, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple deadlines. * Adept in engineering problem-solving * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Must be self-directed and resourceful, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. * Initiative taking and can do attitude * Customer-focused with a sales-oriented mindset. * Adaptive learner and apply learning to job functions. Desired Certifications and Experience * Licenses or certifications: NABCEP, IEC, OSHA, PV, PGPV * Relevant Degrees: Bachelor's in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Science, Mechanical Engineering, Design, Construction Management, Architecture, Technical Education. Understanding of construction, mechanical design, electrical design * Commanding proficiency in SolidWorks, proficient in using Microsoft Office. * Science or engineering degree with 3 -5 years working experience in Roofing, Solar or other related industry.
