Full description of the position

Summary: The Sales Engineer is responsible for attaining or exceeding a pre-determined annual sales goal by selling products/equipment or services to customers through technical knowledge and sales skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to: * Generate sales for the business using technical expertise, sound judgement and industry knowledge. * Work with management to create assigned customers and/or targeted areas. * Develop professional relationships with manufacturers, customers and engineers. * Develop and expand knowledge of the products and services offered by remaining engaged in industry advancements in technology. * Foster new and existing customer relationships based on knowledge and expertise, establish trust for long term partnerships. * Provide customer engagement through lunch and learn presentations on products, services and solutions to meet their needs. * Maintain daily contact with customers with a target and goal of setting weekly high-quality face-to-face meetings with decision makers. * Manage sales pipeline, track customer and account details * Ability to learn how to start up equipment and become knowledgeable on how to instruct customers on basic operations and function Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. * Sales Industry Experience - Generate sales through experience and a working knowledge of the sales industry, products and services. * Customer Service - Provide excellent service to customers, understand their needs. * Communication skills - effectively communicate with internal and external customers. * Computer skills - Strong knowledge of CRM and record keeping, and reporting software (MSO) used for creating and storing sales records and reports. * Proven track record of troubleshooting complex equipment. * Experience working within a small organization with a found understanding of the importance of teamwork to accomplish shared goals. Education/Training/Experience * Bachelor's Degree in relevant field(s); Engineering * Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Microsoft Office experience for record keeping and reporting (these include Outlook, Excel, and other programs in the MS Office suite) * Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience Work Environment The office space for this position is located indoors on the second floor of a two-story building in an open space surrounded by other offices.The noise level is moderate.Work site locations can be indoors and outdoors, with hot and cold weather climates. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to sit; stand, walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
