Full description of the position

Semco Carbon, a custom carbon and graphite machining company is searching for two talented Technical Sales Engineers. One located in the Midwest and one on the West Coast. These newly created positions have a critical role in driving business growth and success and report directly to the President. Generating new business as well as building and maintaining relationships with customers are key components of this position. This is a hybrid position with an anticipated 50%-60% travel. The compensation package consists of a base salary plus commission. The successful candidate should have a background in technical sales, preferably in an industry such as metallurgy, heat treating, or casting with a general knowledge of CNC machining principles. The duties of the position shall generally be considered to encompass the following: Essential Functions: * Negotiate new and manage existing customer contracts, to grow commercial revenue. * Build and maintain relationships with customers both current and prospective, including identifying opportunities for growth. * Deliver sales volume and revenue in line with the business plan, meeting quarterly goals. * Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining product features to current and prospective customers and stakeholders. * Collaborate with estimating and production teams to make material recommendations and provide solutions as well as work with production for scheduling and feedback. * Prepare and submit sales reports to management. * Accurately use SalesForce to manage customer information. * Establish, protect and promote an online or virtual identity for employer through social media. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Technical discipline, preferred. * Minimum 3 years of technical sales experience, preferably 5 or more. * Manufacturing cost estimating experience a plus. * ERP experience preferred. * Must be able to read and understand blueprints. * Must be a pro-active, flexible self-starter possessing problem solving and analytical skills. * Must practice exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills. * Familiarity with CNC machining - milling, turning, boring, grinding and sawing is preferred. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Proficiency with a CRM system, preferably Salesforce, and Microsoft Office.
