Full description of the position

Job Overview: The Sales Manager at The Palm House will be responsible for driving revenue and maximizing sales opportunities for our hotel. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual who can generate new business, maintain existing relationships, and identify market trends to ensure the hotel's growth and profitability. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to implement strategic sales initiatives and ensure consistent achievement of revenue goals. Key Responsibilities: * Sales Strategy & Execution: * Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets for both group and transient segments. * Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation. * Maintain a strong knowledge of the hotel's offerings, competitive landscape, and industry trends to position the hotel effectively in the market. * Relationship Management: * Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, including corporate clients, travel agents, meeting planners, and group leaders. * Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, negotiating contracts, and securing new business. * Follow up on leads and manage client expectations to ensure exceptional service and satisfaction. * Sales Reporting & Analysis: * Track sales activities, provide regular updates, and analyze results to identify areas for improvement. * Prepare and present detailed reports on sales performance, pipeline, and market trends to the Director of Sales & Marketing. * Forecast potential bookings and adjust sales tactics accordingly to meet business goals. * Collaboration & Coordination: * Work closely with the operations and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of bookings and events. * Coordinate with the hotel's catering, events, and front desk teams to ensure client needs are met. * Attend regular sales meetings and collaborate with other departments to drive the overall success of the hotel. * Event & Meeting Sales: * Promote and sell event spaces, including conferences, meetings, banquets, and weddings, by working with clients and ensuring the events are managed smoothly from start to finish. * Assist clients with event planning, ensuring that all details are addressed and the client's vision is met. * Customer Satisfaction: * Ensure that customer satisfaction is a top priority by addressing issues, offering solutions, and following up post-event. * Collect feedback from clients to continually improve services and sales strategies. * Marketing & Promotions: * Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, packages, and campaigns to attract new business and retain existing customers. * Participate in local community events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance the hotel's visibility and reputation. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience). * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hotel sales or a related industry. * Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and objectives. * Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management abilities. * Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel property management software (e.g., Opera, Delphi, or similar). * Ability to travel up to 20% for business development, client meetings, and industry events Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. * Occasional standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. * Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for client meetings, site visits, and industry events. Licenses or Certificates * Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
