Position Summary The primary responsibilities of the sales associate position are to maintain helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Compensation * Part-Time: $15/hour Schedule Requirements This is a retail store, opened 7 days a week. We are currently seeking an experienced candidate to fill a part-time position. Schedule needs may vary from week to week and require flexibility. Please only apply if you are available to work during all days and hours that we are open. The store hours are as follows: * Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 6:00pm * Saturday: 8:00am - 5:00pm * Sunday: 9:00am - 4:00pm Work Environment We are a very busy family owned and operated paint and hardware store. Our store caters to retail homeowners as well as painting professionals and building maintanance accounts. With an outside sales team, we handle a large volume of paint orders and offer daily delivery services. Our in-store customer traffic is very steady as well, so there is never a dull moment! We have created a positive, fun atmosphere where we all work side by side to make our business the best it can be. Hard work, dedication and team work are rewarded here and there is always room to grow for a person who earns it! There is no such thing as "that is not my job" here. We are a true mom and pop store, where we all work together to be a helpful local destination within our community. Major Responsibilities * Ensure each customer receives outstanding service * Greet customers as they enter the store * Answer phone calls * Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers * Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements * Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registers * Maintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stocked * Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management * Encourage customers to join the ACE rewards program * Issuing receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers Minimum Requirements * Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred * Experience in a retail environment either in cashier, sales, or back office * A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction * Skills/Knowledge: Ability to process information and/or merchandise through register system * Ability to communicate with associates and customers * Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn * Knowledge of retail computer systems, electronic cash registers, MS Word, and Excel a plus * Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task * Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business Physical Requirements * Ability to stand for an extended period of time * Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth * Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.
