POSITION SUMMARY: Under general direction of the National Sales Manager and National Sales Manager, Inside Technical Sales is for customer and field rep support, providing technical assistance, sales quotes and answering customer inquiries, order processing and contract review. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Evaluates customer needs and assists with product selection utilizing knowledge of engineering specifications and catalog resources. * Develops, solicits, and closes new accounts, generates sales quotations, and handles customer inquiries. * Develops and maintains favorable relationships with new and existing clients and contacts. * Resolves customer issues and problems. * Processes sales orders with appropriate contact review JOB REQUIREMENTS: _ EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE: A 4-year technical degree or minimum 2-year AAS technical degree and 3-5 years sales experience in a technical or engineering environment. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: * Technical aptitude. * Strong communication skills. * Basic trouble shooting skills. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, and Excel. * Ability to work in engineering and production environment. * Ability to manage multiple projects. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None EQUIPMENT TO BE USED : Personal computers (Microsoft Products, MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, CRM and MRP). General office equipment (fax machine, copier). TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS : * Ability to sit at a desk for approximately 7-8 hours per day. * Requires occasional exposure to production environment including machine shop. * May require occasional assistance with setting up or taking down trade show equipment. TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS : * Must be able to perform basic algebraic equations. * Must be able to understand basic electrical or process schematics. * Must be able to understand basic mechanical drawings. WORKING CONDITIONS : Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production environment with adequate ventilation. TRAVEL: * May require air travel or driving out of town on rare occasions to assist with trade shows.
