This role involves managing relationships with existing customer accounts (such as gas stations and commercial clients), managing brand conversion projects with local contractors, ensuring customers meet brand image standards and improving and growing relationships with external suppliers and vendors. Market Managers provide support to clients, address service issues, mentor Territory Managers and work closely with internal teams (e.g., dispatch, accounting) to optimize operations and customer satisfaction. Daily responsibilities include maintaining dealer relationships (problem solving), conducting monthly site visits, expediting deliveries and identifying growth opportunities. The ideal candidate is a proactive, results- driven professional of high integrity with strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and ability to work both autonomously and in teams. Candidates must be willing to address customer issues on both nights and weekends (as this is a 24/7 business) as needed. Responsibilities * Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support a team of Territory Managers, providing guidance on sales strategies, contract negotiations, and customer relationship management. Some markets may not justify direct reports immediately. * Account Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers, ensuring satisfaction, addressing service issues, and supporting dealers with operational needs. * Brand Conversion Projects: Manage brand conversion initiatives with local vendors, ensuring adherence to brand image standards. * Supplier Relationships: Enhance and grow partnerships with external suppliers and vendors to support operational efficiency and customer success. * Operational Support: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., dispatch, accounting) to optimize delivery schedules, expedite fuel shipments, and resolve logistical challenges. * Daily Duties: Conduct monthly site visits, expedite deliveries, troubleshoot dealer issues, and identify opportunities for growth within the territory. * Customer Focus: Provide hands-on support to dealers, addressing concerns and ensuring high levels of service, often requiring availability on nights and weekends as part of a 24/7 business. Qualifications * Essential Skills & Traits: * Minimum of 5+ years of proven success in outside sales, ideally in a relational selling role, with a "help-first" mindset. * Exceptional communication and listening skills, with a positive outlook and a fiduciary approach to customer relationships. * High integrity, strong moral compass, and a history of "doing hard things" that demonstrates grit, patience, and resilience. * Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, delivering consistent results with minimal oversight. * An servant-hearted sales professional who values service, care, and long-term relationship building over short-term gains. * Strong work ethic and a track record of tackling challenges with patience and determination. * Real estate experience is a plus. * Relevant college degree required. (MBA Preferred.) * Experience: * Experience in the fuels industry is positive, but not required. * Prior relational sales experience is a positive. Work Environment * Monthly visits to each customer location within the assigned territory, with occasional travel for sales meetings and brand conferences. * Manage and mentor Territory Managers, when applicable. * Availability to address customer needs outside standard hours, including nights and weekends, as part of a 24/7 operation.
