About the Position: The Senior Commercial Sales Engineer plays a critical role in driving the success of the company's commercial sales initiatives. This individual will act as a trusted advisor to Consulting Engineers, leveraging technical expertise and sales acumen to develop tailored solutions, grow market share, and strengthen customer relationships. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, providing technical support, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction. Essential Responsibilities: * Build and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers, and other industry stakeholders. * Provide technical guidance and product recommendations to consulting engineers, ensuring solutions meet their needs and specifications. * Conduct detailed project analysis, including reviewing blueprints and specifications, to prepare accurate and competitive quotes. * Stay current on industry trends, product developments, and competitive landscape to provide insights and recommendations. * Lead product presentations, training sessions, and lunch-and-learn events for clients and partners. * Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territory or market segment. * Monitor and report on market trends, and client feedback to management. * Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Supervisory Responsibilities: * Mentor and provide guidance to junior sales engineers or team members as needed. * Coordinate with team members to align on sales strategies and client engagement plans. * May oversee specific projects or initiatives requiring cross-departmental collaboration. Qualifications, Attributes, Education, and/or Experience: * Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales or a related field, preferably within the commercial equipment distribution industry. * Strong technical knowledge and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. * Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing long-term client relationships. * Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. * Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently. * Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support sales efforts. Computer Skills: * Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
