Position -Technical Sales Specialist (BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Required) Job Summary - Meter Valve and Control specializes in providing safe and reliable measurement and control products serving the natural gas, water, electric and renewable markets. We are seeking a dynamic Inside Technical Support Sales Specialist to join our team. A bachelors degree is required and a Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree is required. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with sales acumen to drive customer satisfaction and business growth. During the first one or two years of employment, the focus will be primarily on office-based work to establish a strong technical foundation and gain a comprehensive understanding of the company. Starting in the third year, candidates who are interested and prepared for the responsibility will be offered opportunities in outside technical sales. The position is full time and requires the employee Full Time, 8AM-5PM position on site in East Bay/Alamo, detached structure on property. Daily Responsibilities: Technical Support: Address customer technical inquiries, including product sizing, troubleshooting, and engineering support. Customer Service: Serve as a primary contact for phone calls, handling simple phone quotes, billing questions, order status, and related queries. Forwarding more complex technical calls to the appropriate staff. Quoting: Provide quote for line items in the MV&C product line. Order Entry: Collaborate with additional inside sales team, inputting orders into Dear Systems inventory management system. Inventory: Ensure inventory accuracy and that sufficient supplies are ordered to maintain minimum stock levels. Backup Responsibility: - Package and ship orders when warehouse staff is unavailable. Growth Opportunities: Phone Sales: Make outbound sales calls to potential commercial/industrial customers, send sales materials via mail/email, and set appointments for the outside sales team. Local Outside Sales: Conduct sales calls to existing and potential commercial/industrial customers. Technical Training/Brown Bag Seminars: Provide technical training or lunch and learn seminars for current or prospective customers. Marketing: Create monthly newsletters to inform customers about new products, incentives, technical updates, and new code enforcement. Collaborate with the website designer to keep the website updated. Job requirements: - Strong technical competency to properly size, specify, and sell products in the MV&C portfolio. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. - Excellent interpersonal skills to handle customers who are upset about product issues effectively. - Excellent writing skills for clear communication via email with clients. - Strong phone skills to address customers' current and future needs promptly and reliably. - Proficiency in or the ability to quickly learn Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Compensation: Salary - $65,000-$105,000 depending upon educational background and previous work experience. Bonus - Can vary between 1-10% of salary depending upon employee and company performance. Additional bonus may be considered If/when the employee takes on the responsibility of a particular product line and/or large customer. Benefits: Medical - Fully funded by MV&C for the employee 401K/Roth - The company offers either a 401k or Roth plan through Wells Fargo. MV&C matches the first 3% of the applicant's compensation. Profit Sharing - MV&C offers a profit sharing/cash balance plan which is based upon the applicant's employment category and profitability of the company. Vacation - 1 week of vacation the first year of employment and two weeks the second year of employment. Additional weeks accrued based upon years of experience.
