Application Engineer - Excitation Systems - Base Salary plus opportunity for bonus This position works from one's home office. This position requires up to 50% travel throughout the entire US and Canada. We are looking for candidates that have a BSEE. This position facilitates in the sales process by promoting and providing application engineering support of Basler products to potential and existing Basler customers. It is preferred that candidates have experience with excitation systems or rotating equipment. Candidates must have experience with 3 phase power systems in the Utilities and Industrial Market. We are open to one with experience with static frequency converters as well. APPLICATION ENGINEER - EXCITATION JOB SUMMARY: Provide systems application engineering to sales and customers utilizing technical knowledge and expertise from areas of specialization. REPORTS TO: Regional Sales Manager - Power Generation ESSENTIAL DUTIES: *Assist customers in the proper selection of Basler products as they relate to systems as well as to discrete components. *Assist customers in the application, installation, start up, calibration, troubleshooting, and problem solving of Basler products and related systems. *Travel, as required, to determine product potentials, customer needs, and assist in the sale of products and systems. *Maintain proper communication with all sales territories to ensure systems application assistance is provided as may be required in sales plans. *Present Basler products, systems, and problem solutions to customers at conferences as scheduled by sales personnel. *Assist in promotion activities including product literature reviews and industry functions such as trade shows, technical conferences, and schools. *Actively participate in interfacing and communicating with marketing personnel and project teams to provide market feedback for successful product specifications and development. *Survey and define market needs. *Assist in market research and competitive information collection, as required. *Present technical papers at industry conferences, as required. *Assist in creating sales tools including application notes. *Lead other application specialists in daily activities. REQUIREMENTS *BSEE or equivalent experience. *Minimum five years experience as Application Specialist - Systems, or ten years equivalent experience and working knowledge of generating power systems and analog and digital circuitry. *Willingness to travel at least 50% of time in assigned sales territories. COMPENSATION We anticipate filling this position as an Application Engineer - Excitation with an expected compensation range of $73,000 - $84,000 with the opportunity for incentive compensation. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. E.O.E.
