Estimator - Modern Molding (Delano, MN) Modern Molding is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support quoting and sales operations for plastic injection molding. This role plays a key part in generating accurate, competitive estimates for new tooling, production, and repairs. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Estimator ensures profitability through well-calculated quotes, collaborating across teams and contributing to company growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation & Quoting
• Prepare detailed and competitive quotes for tooling, production, and repair.
• Analyze part designs, materials, and process requirements.
• Complete RFQs within 3 business days; maintain quote accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production for feasibility and risk analysis.
• Customer & Team Collaboration
• Review customer prints/specs and clarify technical requirements.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer RFQs.
• Technical & Manufacturing Knowledge
• Apply expertise in injection molding, tooling, and materials.
• Partner with internal teams to assess mold design, cycle times, and production viability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating or quoting experience in plastic injection molding.
• Hands-on molding experience and strong analytical skills preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP systems, quoting tools; CAD familiarity a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and time management.
