Gallagher Fluid Seals, Inc. is a global distributor and manufacturer of Fluid Sealing products. Gallagher represents the strongest seal manufacturers in the world, in addition to operating its own gasket fabrication facility. Gallagher serves both OEM & MRO customers through the development of technical solutions that solve sealing challenges. PURPOSE: The Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and solutions to customers, assisting with product selection, and ensuring the successful application of our sealing products. This role requires strong engineering skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide technical support to customers and sales team regarding product selection, application, and troubleshooting. * Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate sealing solutions. * Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations. * Assist customers in the application and integration of sealing products into their systems. * Perform on-site evaluations and installations as necessary. * Develop and maintain application guidelines and best practices. * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and providing timely solutions. * Respond to customer inquiries and technical questions promptly and effectively. * Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities. * Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to provide customer feedback and insights for new product development. * Assist in the testing and validation of new products. * Participate in the continuous improvement of existing products and applications. * Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications, application notes, and case studies. * Conduct training sessions for customers and internal staff on product applications and technical topics. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices. QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum of 3 years of experience in an applications engineering or similar role, preferably in the sealing solutions or related industry. * Strong technical knowledge of sealing products and their applications. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Exceptional customer service and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Proficiency in Solidworks CAD/CAM software and other engineering tools is a plus. * Willingness to travel to customer sites and trade shows (overnight) as required * Proficient in using Microsoft Office software applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. * The employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility * Regular and predictable attendance * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. * The employee is required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel, and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with arms and hands as needed.
