Upscale, Laguna Beach Optometric Office is seeking an OPTICIAN who is looking for a place to grow. We would like a candidate who can perform optical frame stylings, ordering, merchandising and insurance billing. There is room for growth into management opportunities in the future for the right person. We have been in practice for over 45 years. We maintain a fun and social environment, while striving to provide high quality eyewear and eyecare to our community. We are currently seeking a full time (4-5 d) optician who has interest both in medical based patient care and optical sales. Must have solid skills in communication, customer service, critical thinking, attention to detail, utilization of software, and knowldege of spectacle lens materials and lens designs. Primary responsibility will be optical sales, orders, verifications, and inventory management. Candidate must be available to work some Saturdays (1-2 per month) and a minimum of 2 years experience in the optometric field. The position requires ability to multi-task. Our opticians and technicians work as a team-- all are involved in optical sales in addition to patient care, exam testing, front office work, and maintain office cleanliness and organization. This position would require that of you as well. However, we do have dedicated exam technicians who do most of the exam care. We are a technology driven practice in both eyecare and examinations, so comfort and efficiency with technology is mandatory . We will train instrument use with the right person.
