Job Description
Position Purpose Maximize revenue by prospecting, securing, executing, following up with, and retaining groups and events for the Hilton Garden Inn Eden Prairie and the Holiday Inn Express Minnetonka. This position reports directly to the Corporate Director of Sales and indirectly to the hotel General Managers. Constituents: Owners Customers/Clients Teammates/Coworkers Vendors The Local Community Indicators of Success Financial performance (Revenue to budget, YOY growth) Client satisfaction and retention Employee surveys / GM Review Areas of Responsibility 1. Booking Groups/Functions (40%) Provide professional and courteous expertise to prospective groups. Successfully and efficiently book functions to achieve maximum revenue from groups and meeting space. Complete Function Inquiry, Function Agreements, and in-house Event Orders accurately and share information with relevant hotel teams. Obtain signatures and payment from each group at least 72 hours before the event. Prospect for new groups and business opportunities via internet, phone calls, and emails. 2. Client Trust and Loyalty (30%) Build rapport and trust through one-on-one sales contact. Assist clients with their needs and special requests in a courteous and professional manner. Utilize creative solutions to secure groups and deliver incremental value. Proactively develop seasonal/special menus or promotions. Accurately confirm groups with prospects and clients, making necessary changes and/or corrections in a timely manner. Personally greet and welcome groups to the hotel when applicable. Ensure guest satisfaction via follow-ups with clients within 10 business days post-event. Conduct follow-ups with past groups and events to ascertain future needs and share hotel updates. 3. Function Analysis (10%) Direct the execution of group blocks and meeting and conference facilities to achieve profit and revenue goals. Analyze business results and recommend improvements. Prepare monthly lost business reports for review. Forecast and compare actual results with budget projections. 4. Team Management (5%) Schedule and diagram room set-up specifications accurately and in a timely fashion. Share group and event details on a daily and weekly basis with the Corporate Director of Sales and General Manager. Work with the General Manager to accurately plan the setup and execution of events and group guestrooms. Conduct team meetings to boost morale, recognize achievements, and communicate effectively. Enter all group information into the CRM system for record-keeping. Complete weekly Sales Activity Reports for the Corporate Director of Sales and General Manager. Promote a safe and healthy work environment. 5. Sales Coordination (5%) Collaborate with the Corporate Director of Sales to execute strategies that maximize profitability. Assist with marketing, trade shows, community relationships, and outside calls. 6. Food & Beverage Oversight (5%) Oversee meal service quality. Ensure F&B Department heads adhere to hotel policy and standards. Conduct pre-function meetings with banquet staff. Act as QA inspector for all F&B prepared for events. 7. Team Relations and Communication (5%) Inform the General Manager of any significant issues. Notify departments of booking status changes to utilize resources effectively. Maintain positive working relationships with all associates. Project a favorable image of the company. Key Skills and

Delegation: Assign tasks using individual skills assessment and clear communication. Sales Skills: Understand community positioning and be capable of closing business. Training: Deliver training material effectively in-group and one-on-one settings. Training/Education
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience Desired 2 to 4 years of sales and/or conference banquet experience. Qualification Standards Follow directions and priorities from the Corporate Director of Sales and General Manager. Cooperate with and support others. Work independently with minimal supervision. Perform additional duties as required. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
