Full description of the position

Overview Sightglass Coffee Roasters is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager, to lead and expand our wholesale and strategic client relationships. This key role is responsible for driving revenue growth, fostering long-term partnerships, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess deep industry knowledge, a passion for specialty coffee, and a strategic mindset to develop tailored solutions that align with both client needs and company objectives. Reporting directly to the VP of Wholesale, this role is based in San Francisco and requires up to 15% travel. Responsibilities * Develop and implement strategies to drive client engagement, retention, and revenue expansion. * Act as a trusted advisor, deeply understanding client needs and proactively addressing challenges. * Continuously evolve client programs to enhance their experience and ensure long-term partnership success. * Provide proactive and responsive service, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams. * Drive new business by identifying and acquiring prospective wholesale accounts. * Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets. * Utilize CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) to manage leads, track opportunities, and analyze pipeline performance. * Organize and conduct sales presentations, coffee tastings, and demonstrations to showcase Sightglass products and services. * Foster strong relationships through active listening, empathy, and strategic engagement. * Effectively communicate complex solutions, ensuring clarity and alignment with both clients and internal teams. * Navigate and resolve challenges diplomatically, strengthening long-term relationships. * Lead large-scale client initiatives using project management tools like Asana. * Partner with internal teams to continuously improve service offerings and client experience. * Ensure transparency and accountability in project execution while proactively addressing roadblocks. * Track key performance indicators to measure success and adjust approaches accordingly. Identify and capitalize on opportunities for expansion and upselling to drive revenue growth. * Qualifications * 3-5 years of sales experience in coffee, food, or beverage industries. * Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving profitable growth. * Passion for specialty coffee and the ability to educate others about our offerings. * Experience managing regional markets, channels, and key accounts preferred. * Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. * Familiarity with Google Suite, Asana, HubSpot (or other CRM platforms), and Microsoft Office. * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required for market visits). Physical Demands & Work Environment * Ability to maneuver effectively around the San Francisco office location, including up and down stairs. * Flexibility to work offsite, from home, and travel to the San Francisco region as needed. * Repetitive use of hands and fingers for computer operation * Ability to sit; talk on phone, for long periods of time * Able to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. * Ability to occasionally work outside of standard business hours on an ad-hoc basis to address urgent business needs on weekends and evenings.
