Join our team and let us grow together! Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa/Newport Beach is currently seeking an experienced Director of Sales to join the team. JOB SUMMARY: The primary duties of the Director of Sales are to be reliable, oversee and manage sales activities.

Duties

include outside sales related responsibilities, i.e., prospecting for new accounts and maintaining current account relationships, occasionally conducts hotel site tours with clients, on-boarding, training and development of current and new team members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Lead and inspire the sales team to achieve revenue targets, providing guidance, mentorship, and support
• Assists the Corporate Director of Sales and General Managers with special projects.

Responsibilities

include proactively making solicitation calls, conducting sales tours, and hosting clients, specifically catering to Business Travel (BT), and/or Business Groups as relevant to each property. Monitoring and evaluating market segment trends will also be essential.

• Performs work related to sales related duties, i.e., returning phone calls related to 'outside sales' and booked business, writing contracts, preparing promotional materials, and completing sales reports.
• Partner with Area Directors and Corporate Director of Sales for implementing new sales initiatives that will aid in increasing revenues.
• Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Corporate Director of Sales.
• Work with Corporate Director of Sales, Revenue Manager, Area Directors to ensure pricing and revenue strategies are aligned within each market in order to maximize revenue.
• Maintain guest confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain a positive work environment.
• Responsible for working in a safe and conscientious manner. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 years of Sales Experience
• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
