Vice President of Sales Department: Sales and Marketing Reports To: Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (CSMO) Location: Based in Texas (Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, or Houston preferred) Position Summary Civitas Senior Living is seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Sales to lead, coach, and actively manage the sales process across our portfolio of senior living communities. This role demands a Vice President of Sales who excels at hands-on coaching, frontline sales management, and direct ownership of census growth. The Vice President of Sales will collaborate closely with the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Vice President of Digital Marketing, Regional Directors of Sales and Marketing (RDSMs), and senior leadership to drive a sales-driven culture aligned with business goals, customer experience standards, and operational success. Key Responsibilities * Develop and execute senior living sales strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue goals across multiple markets. * Partner with the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer to establish Sales Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that support company census and revenue targets. * Create monthly incentive programs and sales contests to drive engagement, urgency, and competitive performance. * Identify new business development and growth opportunities to maximize revenue potential. Hands-On Sales Management & Coaching * Actively coach Regional Directors of Sales and Marketing (RDSMs) and community sales teams through field visits, lead reviews, and real-time training. * Provide direct support to underperforming communities, offering strategic and tactical coaching to improve inquiry-to-tour and tour-to-move-in conversion rates. * Drive daily sales discipline -- including CRM management, lead follow-up, prospect nurturing, and move-in forecasting. * Model the Civitas Senior Living sales process by participating directly in key prospect interactions when needed. Team Leadership & Development * Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing regional and community sales organization. * Create a culture of sales accountability, customer focus, and excellence across all communities. * Conduct regular performance evaluations and support professional development plans for RDSMs, Sales Specialists, and Call Specialists. Sales & Marketing Alignment * Collaborate with the Vice President of Digital Marketing to align campaigns, promotions, and lead generation initiatives with field sales efforts. * Ensure all inbound leads, whether digital, professional referral, or walk-in, are promptly and systematically handled according to Civitas standards. * Define and enforce high standards for prospect handling, CRM usage, and lead nurturing workflows. Training & Skill Development * Develop and deliver field-based sales training programs focused on advanced selling skills, prospect engagement, objection handling, and closing strategies. * Provide Executive Directors with sales leadership training to strengthen their role in driving community-level census performance. Performance Monitoring & Reporting * Conduct structured community visits to assess sales execution, evaluate sales opportunities, and mentor sales teams. * Analyze sales KPIs and deliver weekly progress reports to the CEO, COO, CSMO, and EVPO. * Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline sales operations and improve move-in performance. Industry & Market Awareness * Maintain strong expertise in senior living industry trends, competitive intelligence, and market dynamics. * Apply market insights to optimize regional sales strategies and maintain Civitas' competitive advantage. Ideal Candidate Profile * Proven Sales Operator: Skilled in hands-on sales leadership, not just setting strategy but personally coaching and managing the sales process. * Sales Process Expert: Deep knowledge of CRM-driven pipeline management, senior living sales journeys, and conversion optimization. * Accountability-Driven Leader: Sets clear expectations, fosters discipline, and ensures consistent field execution. * Customer-Centric Strategist: Balances strong sales performance with a high-quality customer experience that builds loyalty and trust. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field strongly preferred. * 5+ years of Vice President of Sales or region/divisional sales leadership experience, preferably within senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or service industries. * Multi-site or multi-market sales leadership experience is required. * Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Enquire) and sales performance analytics tools. * Expertise in sales coaching, lead management best practices, and prospect conversion strategies. * Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% across Texas and other markets as needed.
