Enjoy coming to work, and make some money too! Builders Surplus is looking for a full-time retail sales associate. The job is similar to what you would see at Home Depot or Lowe's, except without the late nights & NO working on Sundays. The position will be dealing directly with customers. It will involve walking, selling, and product handling, in a retail/warehouse environment. We open at 9 am, close at 6 pm, and are closed on Sundays. This person would need to work on Saturdays.

Duties and Responsibilities

:

• Greet and interact with customers
• Bilingual is a plus. (Spanish)
• Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise; selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer's needs
• Answer customer's questions about merchandise
• Assists customers with purchase decisions
• Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations; place special orders
• Collect payment using our point of sale system
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail/warehouse space
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
• Ability and willingness to gain knowledge on merchandise sold at the store. On-the-job training is provided.
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to recommend merchandise and customers
• Excellent active listening skills
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous retail experience preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.50 per hour Shift:
