Enjoy coming to work, and make some money too! Builders Surplus is looking for a full-time retail sales associate. The job is similar to what you would see at Home Depot or Lowe's, except without the late nights & NO working on Sundays. The position will be dealing directly with customers. It will involve walking, selling, and product handling, in a retail/warehouse environment. We open at 9 am, close at 6 pm, and are closed on Sundays. This person would need to work on Saturdays. * $17.00 per hour * OT Available * Weekly Pay * Day Shift * All Sundays Off * No Late Nights * Employee Discount Duties and Responsibilities: * Greet and interact with customers * Bilingual is a plus. (Spanish) * Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise * Demonstrate and explain merchandise; selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer's needs * Answer customer's questions about merchandise * Assists customers with purchase decisions * Retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations; place special orders * Collect payment using our point of sale system * Performs other duties as assigned Requirements: * Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail/warehouse space * Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times * Ability and willingness to gain knowledge on merchandise sold at the store. On-the-job training is provided. * Excellent verbal communication skills * Ability to recommend merchandise and customers * Excellent active listening skills * Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system * High school diploma or equivalent preferred * Previous retail experience preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.50 per hour Shift: * 8 hour shift * Day shift License/Certification: * Driver's License (Required) Work Location: In person
