Carpenter Co. has immediate opening for a Product Development Coordinator at our Corporate office in Richmond, VA. This position is responsible for developing technical specifications for new consumer products like pillows, mattresses, and pet beds. This role involves collaborating with the product development team, vendors, and manufacturers to ensure product quality and standards. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will maintain accurate records, stay current with industry trends, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and manage development samples and oversee their shipping and receiving. Your additional responsibilities as Product Development Coordinator will include: * Collaborate with the product development team to ensure that designs meet company standards for comfort, durability, and cost-effectiveness. * Work with vendors and manufacturers to ensure that products meet technical specifications and quality standards, conduction sample reviews as needed. * Translate design concepts into technical packages, including detailed measurements, materials and construction details. * Manage and update product specifications within Centric PLM to ensure data integrity across departments. * Review and approve samples, prototypes, and production runs to ensure consistency with the approved technical package. * Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the development or production process and recommend solutions to resolve them. * Maintain accurate records of all product iteration, ensuring that all changes are clearly documented and communicated to relevant teams. * Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to inform product design and innovation efforts. * Collaborate with QA team to ensure that products comply with company and regulatory standards for safety, quality, and sustainability. * Ensure clear communication with internal teams and external partners to deliver projects on time and within target costs. * Communicate with sampling teams at the manufacturing plants to accurately complete in-line and private label development and production samples, and ensure they are shipped to the correct destination. Skills/ Requirements * Bachelor's degree (B.A) or equivalent work experience. * 2+ years of experience in the home textiles industry or product development. * Preferred knowledge of Centric PLM. * Preferred knowledge of SAP. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. * Proactive and independent self-starter. * Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
