Overview

A BDC (Business Development Center) Representative plays a crucial role in a dealership's sales and customer service process. They are responsible for managing inbound and outbound communications with potential and existing customers, setting appointments, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. BDC Reps act as the bridge between online/phone inquiries and the in-store sales team. Key

Responsibilities

: Customer Communication

  • Respond promptly and professionally to all inbound phone calls, emails, and online leads.
  • Make outbound calls to follow up with customers who inquired online or by phone.
  • Confirm sales and service appointments and follow up on no-shows.
  • Provide information on vehicle inventory, pricing, incentives, and dealership services. Appointment Management
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for sales and service departments.
  • Track appointment status and update CRM with accurate notes.
  • Maximize show rates by building rapport and emphasizing the value of visiting the dealership. Lead Management & Follow-Up
  • Log and track all leads in the CRM system.
  • Conduct timely and consistent follow-ups via phone, email, and text.
  • Maintain a lead response time within dealership standards (usually under 15 minutes). Customer Service & Sales Support
  • Answer product-related questions and provide solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current promotions, inventory, and financing options.
  • Support the sales team by ensuring customers are well-informed before their visit. Reporting & Administration
  • Keep detailed records of customer interactions, leads, and outcomes.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports on appointments set, shown, and sold.
  • Meet or exceed daily/weekly/monthly performance goals. Key Skills &

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable using CRM software and multitasking between systems.
