Description: OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB Manages the promotion and direction of sales within an assigned area or territory. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Responsible for creating a business plan to increase sales through researching, analyzing, and interpreting records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred for management * Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, and develop sales campaigns * Predicts future market trends and develops new sales ideas * Identifies and contacts potential new customers * Calls on new and existing customers to explain features and merits of products or services offered * Demonstrates products or services, and provides assistance in the best application of products or services * Answers all questions concerning a product or service, with appropriate referrals where required * Closes transactions and takes orders * Submits time and expense reports to management * Investigates product or service warranty claims to ensure resolution within organization policies * Calculates and quotes prices * Coordinate customers' service needs with other departments as required to ensure customer service * Attends trade shows, staff booth, and help with set up and break down of booth OTHER DUTIES * Performs all other duties as required * Travel to customers as required * Responsible for providing backup to other Regional Sales Managers as needed Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required * Minimum of 5 years of experience within a sales capacity required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS * Identify problems, investigate the root-cause, and make recommendations for solutions VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS * Use verbal skills to transfer information to large groups and/or influence others WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS * Complete and maintain documentation/records to effectively convey ideas and information both in written and oral form MATH SKILLS * Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, forecasting/projections COMPUTER SKILLS * Financial/CRM Software * Internet/e-mail * Presentation Software * Spreadsheet Software * Word Processing Software TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT * General Office Equipment MENTAL DEMANDS typically required * Respond to unpredictability * High level record keeping * High pressure for results * Independent judgment and discretion * Organize and prioritize * Manage multiple projects/tasks * Respond to angry/upset individuals * Read, comprehend and follow instructions/work orders * Relate to others PHYSICAL DEMANDS (typically required to perform the essential functions of the job) * CONSTANTLY INCURRED (more than 75% time on job) * Ability to sit * Ability to communicate orally * Ability to hear conversation WORKING CONDITIONS (typically required) * CONSTANTLY INCURRED (more than 75% time on job) * Requires work in a typical office setting * FREQUENTLY INCURRED (25 - 75% time on job) * Travel and/or overnight stays * OCCASIONALLY INCURRED (up to 25% time on job) * Work weekly more than 40 hours * Work a shift between 8-12 hours PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (typically required to perform essential job functions) * OCCASIONALLY INCURRED (up to 25% time on job) * Safety glasses
