Our main focus is having a knowledgeable sales staff that provides a high level of service to our customers in a spirited and fast- paced retail environment. We take pride in our ability to maintain a sense of teamwork within all facets of our business, which includes 5 retail locations, a design services division, and warehouse facilities. We have exciting opportunities to join the team in our beautiful Long Beach Island locations (Beach Haven & Barnegat Light)! Position The Lead Sales Associate is responsible for providing a very high level of customer service from greeting, answering questions, and bringing the sale to a close in our fast-paced home decor retail store. As a Lead Associate, you would assist the Store Manager as a resource to Sales Associates with questions or in need of additional training. A strong knowledge of store merchandise and vendors will be needed. The successful candidate will be able to handle all transactions in our Point of Sale system, including special and custom orders. We are seeking candidates interested in Full Time In-Season Hours (willing to commit to 5 days per week), with limited hours in the off-season. Regular store hours are 10-5 including weekends. Job Responsibilities and Duties * Provide outstanding customer service which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer. * Solid knowledge of our merchandise and vendors. * Assist with open and close the store per company procedures. * Process all credit and cash sales transactions via a Point of Sale (POS) system. * Assist in merchandising, inventory management, weekly product distribution, and general housekeeping. * Assist with training new sales associates; maintain a positive work atmosphere and act as role model for Sales Associates * May accept incoming distribution deliveries and check all items in and ensure accuracy of distribution items; ensure all items are priced and tagged correctly; prepare all items for immediate placement on the sales floor as needed * Work well in a team environment that includes managers, associates, designers, warehouse, and delivery employees across the company. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Flexible and hands-on approach when handling all aspects of the daily store operations. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Ensure merchandise is gift-wrapped per store guidelines. * Ensure all cash wrap materials such as boxes, bags, stickers, and other supplies are adequately stocked at all times. * Ability to travel to and assist at both LBI store locations required * Weekends required Job Qualifications * Experience: 3-5 years of related specialty retail experience * Knowledge of Lightspeed Point of Sale or other retail point of sale system required * Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets) * Ability to work a flexible schedule & travel to store locations within the LBI area * Able to move merchandise weighing approximately 0-50 lbs * High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred Skills * Excellent verbal and written communication * Excellent organizational skills * Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously on a daily basis * Ability to have a high level of proficiency with a point-of-sale system Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 15 - 35 per week Benefits: * Employee discount Shift: * Day shift Work Location: In person
