Job description The Pharmacy and Livestock Supply (PALS) assistant is responsible for all aspects of inventory control and sales for Beard Navasota Veterinary Hospital's in-house large animal pharmacy. The main responsibilities of the PALS assistant center around maintaining relationships with clients, distributors, and pharmaceutical representatives. The PALS assisant is responsible for growing the business through negotiating best pricing. DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR: * Inventory control - ordering and stocking based on data * Outside sales to our veterinary clients * Collaborating with the Veterinary Hospital Staff to ensure inventory benchmarks * Help overseeing rebate programs to maximize profits * Client Service/Relations * Help overseeing marketing and promotions * Help implementing and maintaining barcode technology * Help representing the Practice in the community through participation in local events as needed Requirements * Knowledge of livestock and veterinary industry * Ability to multitask * Technologically proficient in Microsoft Excel or equivalent, Ezyvet or equivalent inventory software * Ability to negotiate in order to achieve the best price for goods * Math skills necessary * Handles sensitive and confidential information discreetly. * Motivated self-starter who works with little direction * Ability to identify issues and formulate solutions * Excellent communication skills with ability to delegate and keep open lines of communication between owners and staff * Ability to organize work and establish and maintain files and records. * Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and other written information. * Ability to manage/oversee marketing including social media and promotions * Experience in a customer-focused agriculture, veterinary, dental, medical, or hospital type environment * Ability to physically perform the essential functions of the position.
