We're Hiring: Business Development Manager Location: 914 E Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA 92805 Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday At Plump Engineering, Inc. , we're not just designing buildings--we're building relationships. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team and help drive our next phase of growth.

About the Role

This is not your typical sales position. As a Business Development Manager at Plump Engineering, you will be deeply integrated into both our technical and production teams. You'll work directly with the Owner/Principal Engineer , collaborate closely with our Production Staff , and interface daily with our clients to ensure a seamless experience from initial meeting through project closeout. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting with Clients : Building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Reading Plans and Understanding Scopes : Evaluating architectural and engineering drawings to ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Proposal Writing and Pricing : Preparing detailed, competitive proposals tailored to client needs and project requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Working with production staff to draft and issue change orders when project scopes evolve.
  • Sales and Goal Management : Managing and reporting on sales pipelines, pursuing growth targets, and ensuring strategic objectives are met.
  • Contract Scope Review : Carefully reviewing client contracts to ensure that the scope of work accurately reflects our proposals and negotiated terms.
Who You Are
  • You have experience in business development, preferably within the architectural, engineering, or construction industries.
  • You are comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings, architectural plans, and technical scopes.
  • You possess strong proposal writing skills and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to pricing and scoping work.
  • You are highly organized and able to manage multiple proposals, client meetings, and internal communications simultaneously.
  • You are collaborative and proactive--working hand-in-hand with leadership and internal teams to drive projects forward.
  • You are a natural relationship builder with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • You are driven by results and enjoy tracking progress toward ambitious sales goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with architectural and engineering documentation is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with CRM tools is a plus. Why Join Plump Engineering?
