Business Development Leader

Job Description

: We are pioneering ultra-precise, permanent magnet-based 3D tracking technology, enabling real-time 6DOF tracking for sensors as small as 1 mm, with up to 0.1 mm accuracy. While the initial focus is on surgical navigation, this technology also has applications in training, simulation, robotics, and human-machine interfaces. We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Leader to establish and expand key partnerships with OEMs in the medical device sector. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual contributor who can build and execute a BD strategy, fostering long-term relationships that drive adoption. The ideal candidate has experience selling sub-systems or components to medical device OEMs, understands complex sales cycles involving deep technical discussions, and is comfortable navigating early-stage product adoption.

Responsibilities

: Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with decision-makers in medical device OEMs, particularly in R&D and strategy teams.
  • Develop and execute a structured, milestone-driven business development strategy.
  • Drive strategic partnerships, licensing deals, and other collaboration opportunities.
  • Educate potential customers on the value and competitive advantages of our technology.
  • Lead negotiations and secure agreements that position the company for long-term success. Sales Process & Growth Strategy
  • Define and refine the company's go-to-market strategy based on market feedback.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align sales strategies with product development and company priorities.
  • Establish repeatable processes for engaging potential customers and converting early interest into long-term partnerships.
  • Track and report key BD milestones and performance indicators. Technical & Industry Expertise
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of mechanical and electrical sub-system/component integrations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our 3D tracking technology and its applications in the medical field.
  • Understand and communicate customer requirements for medical device regulations, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, and operations) to ensure product integration, manufacturing, and operational success.
Qualifications

:

  • 5-10 years of business development experience, focusing on selling sub-systems, components, or enabling technologies to OEMs.
  • Experience navigating multiphase, complex sales cycles with R&D and strategy teams.
  • Strong technical acumen, capable of articulating technology value propositions.
  • Proven ability to drive new market penetration and establish strategic relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and grow into a leadership role as the business scales.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the US, and possibly abroad.
Preferred Qualifications

:

  • Experience in the medical technology sector, particularly working with medical device OEMs.
  • Background in engineering, product development, or manufacturing related to high-tech systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory landscapes affecting medical device components.
  • Prior experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
