Michigan Peat, a leading producer of packaged planting and growing media has an immediate opening for a high-energy sales professional to cover Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The ideal candidate while have a strong track record of success selling through two-step distribution in the horticulture markets and lawn and garden industry and have the following credentials: 1. Minimum 7 - 10 years of direct field sales and account management experience in horticulture, lawn and garden, agriculture, or related fields. 2. A college degree is preferred, but not required. 3. Self-motivated and action-oriented person who can demonstrate success in maintaining current book of business while prospecting for, and winning, new accounts. 4. Proven ability to sell value-added products and leverage brand equity. 5. Thorough understanding of multi-step distribution channel and track record of building sales with dealer networks. 6. Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory. 7. Strong oral and written communications skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, reading sales and other reports to maximize sales and margins in the territory.
