Full description of the position

Overview: The objective of the Senior Vice President of Sales is to close new business sales opportunities through outbound business development strategies, conversion of incoming sales leads and selling new products to existing clients. This role will also be responsible for maintaining strong business relationships by consistently conducting business with integrity. Department: Sales Position Type: Full time Location: Houston (Galleria), Hybrid Organizational Relationships: This role reports to the Head of Sales, and works closely with the Sales team, Finance and Customer Service. Primary Responsibilities: The focus of this role is to identify and close sales opportunities for NGI products/services to solve market problems for existing and prospective clients, which includes two key focuses: * New Sales * Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve individual and team sales targets * Present, promote and sell products/services to prospective and existing clients, using strong consultative selling techniques * Generate opportunities and nurture accounts through a clearly defined discovery and qualification process * Identify prospects' needs, challenges and initiatives and suggest appropriate NGI solutions * Analyze sales metrics and develop actionable strategies for growth * Update CRM with activities and client meeting notes * Develop and implement effective sales strategies to expand the company's customer base and maintain a pipeline of potential clients, providing accurate forecasts * Execute territory and account plans Client Engagement & Customer Service * Manage, grow and sustain relationships with a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty * Serve as an NGI resident Subject Matter Expert, helping clients understand their need, NGI's value and how to use the information from a buyer/seller's perspective * Work with account management team to help successfully renew existing clients * Respond to incoming client inquiries and support customer service * Attend conferences and industry events, represent NGI brand in the market Perform additional related duties as assigned. Requirements: * 10 years of B2B sales experience, at least 4 years in a senior, high-impact role - DaaS and SaaS experience is a plus or equivalent experience in a commercial role involving commodity transactions * Strong track record of meeting and exceeding targets and driving revenue growth * Resourceful, proactive and pragmatic * Ability to analyze prospects and identify market needs/pain points * Exceptional communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills * Ability to work autonomously and with integrity, with a customer-first focus * Proven problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills * Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-growth atmosphere Preferred Education, Skills & Experience: * Undergraduate degree * Knowledge of natural gas trading/marketing in North America * Industry knowledge of and/or experience with natural gas end-users, such as manufacturers, petrochemicals & refining, industrials, and the food industry * International sales experience, preferably in APAC and/or EMEA * Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems * Bilingual English Spanish Pay: Commensurate with experience, plus commission Benefits: * Fully comped Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical/Dental/Vision * Flexible spending accounts * Colonial Life Insurance after 90 days of employment * Paid time off based on tenure * 401K matching after 90 days of employment * WFH/commute + wellness stipend * Birthday + anniversary cash * Growing team with exceptional employee retention Mission: Believing that transparent markets empower businesses, economies, and communities, NGI provides natural gas prices and key news, insights and data for the North American energy markets.
