Full description of the position

Description Markey's provides creative as well as technical audio-visual solutions for client events at the Austin Marriott Downtown. The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for consulting with customers and hotel event management teams to create defining experiences for all customer live and virtual events. In addition to managing sales opportunities, the Senior Sales Manager collaborates closely with internal teams and hotel leadership and contributes to the ongoing development of sales strategies and operational excellence. This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position with typical daytime hours Monday - Friday. The schedule may include occasional evening or weekend work as dictated by client meetings and networking events. Position Responsibilities * Lead strategic relationships with AMD clients requiring a full range of services, including audiovisual rental, electrical services, internet services, rigging, and technical labor, ensuring seamless execution and high client satisfaction. * Develop and present innovative, technically sound event solutions by leveraging advanced consultative sales strategies and deep industry knowledge. * Oversee the preparation and review of quotes, labor estimates, and diagrams, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with client goals and profitability targets. * Drive new business development efforts by identifying high-value opportunities, cultivating long-term client relationships, and expanding the customer base. * Support Sales Team and Event Technicians, promoting best practices, enhancing consultative sales techniques, and fostering continuous development. * Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional departments to align sales strategy with operational capabilities and business goals. * Foster positive working relationships with facility management, guests, clients, and planners. * Work within a system of SOPs for workflow and responsibilities. Requirements * Minimum two years of experience in event technology sales. * Adept at making verbal presentations to customers. * Must possess a high level of detail in all work. * Detailed knowledge of A/V equipment ranging from flown PA systems to large-venue projection to stage lighting and design. * Estimate manpower and labor requirements for events ranging in attendance of 100 to 1500 attendees. * Proficient verbal and written communication skills. * Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and One Drive. * Thorough knowledge of R2 software. * Previous history of interacting positively with internal and external customers. * Ability to work as part of a team. * Able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs. * Must possess excellent time management and multitasking skills by balancing workload between quoting projects, attending meetings, face-to-face customer interactions, on-site event support, billing and overall account management.
