JOB DESCRIPTION Ernst Concrete (Louisville and Southern Indiana Region) is looking for a personable, motivated, and organized individual to join our concrete sales team aka The Green Team. - Essential Job Functions
- Contact regular customers to inquire about their upcoming jobs and potential product needs as well as solicit orders.
- Identify and contact potential customers by using business directories, following leads from existing customers, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
- Communicate with customers to resolve problems and provide continuing support.
- Prepare customer pricing documents accurately and timely and submit them to appropriate departments.
- Answer customer and potential customer questions about products, prices, product uses and credit terms.
- Quote and close commercial work which includes gathering information on specifications, quantities, locations, and special circumstances required.
- Communicate with plant managers, dispatchers, and quality control personnel to ensure quality service for customers.
- Complete and submit weekly customer call reports.
- Communicate with Credit and Collections Manager to ensure customers and potential customer requirements or needs are met in a timely manner.
- Communicate with Accounts Payable Department and complete appropriate expense account paperwork and documentation.

Requirements
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Knowledge of ASTM C94, C31, C39, and other relevant concrete testing standards.
- Previous experience in concrete field testing or construction quality control required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and mix designs required.
- Must be able to communicate with Management, Supervisors and Peers.
- Must be able to do math, such as addition, subtraction, fractions, and percentages.
- Must be able to communicate with people at various social levels.
- Must be able to make decisions without supervision.
- Must have and maintain a valid drivers' license.
- Requires making decisions that affect other people, financial resources and/or the image and reputation of Ernst.
- Must be able to determine and accomplish tasks, priorities, and goals without supervision.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must have experience in handling confidential information and paperwork.
- Must have desktop computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, database maintenance and internet knowledge.
- Must be able to operate a variety of standard office machines including a personal computer, telephone, fax, calculator, and photocopier.
- Must be able and willing to assist, listen and care for others.
- Must be available during standard work hours, which are 7:30 am to 5:00 pm weekdays.?
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to accommodate early, late or weekend deliveries and participate in field representation during concrete pours.
- Must have flexibility with time management to accommodate after-hour entertainment events and industry-related events such as sporting events and association membership meetings as well as business trips.
- Must represent the Company in a professional manner in all areas including attire and appearance.?
- Ability to recognize standard construction and concrete practices.
- Understanding and compliance of Company's relevant policies and Procedures.
- Maintain all company issued items in a professional manner.
- Must be able to operate assigned company vehicle and perform tasks in a safe manner and observe all safety requirements and policies.
