MARKET BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION * Position Summary Under the direction of the VP of Sales and Business Development, the Market Business Development Manager will increase the goodwill value of the Allied brand. To make sure our message is consistent and that Allied is presented in a professional manner. Grow our business as a whole, but with a particular emphasis on growing our service, inspection and TI business. * Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Trade Organizations / Industry Events * Present at all organizational/membership related luncheons and events * Make sure that we have the proper sales members and clients/prospect available when necessary * All the setup and registration will run through the marketing team which will allow expenses and success rate to be tracked * Make sure that Allied is being represented consistently and in a professional manner and that all guest and team members are dressed appropriately * All meetings and presentations will meet brand standards * Meetings * On the appropriate meetings, marketing team members will join our salesman on calls. This will especially be the case when we are dealing with property management companies and building engineers. The goal is for our marketing team member to turn the call from a transactional event into a relationship. In addition, our marketing team member will be responsible for making sure that marketing material is brought to the meeting if necessary. * The marketing team will be responsible for going on stop-ins and prospect calls with our salesman. This provides accountability to our salesman to make sure that they are going out periodically to follow-up with clients/prospects who we are bidding work to. If necessary, it will be the marketing team members responsibility to get the call setup and bring whatever marketing material that is necessary. * Setting up meetings with salesman from contacts that are made at industry events will be a primary responsibility. The goal is to take the contact that is made and turn them into a client. * Prospecting * One of the top priorities of our marketing staff will be direct prospecting. The list of prospects that they will be responsible for targeting are as follows: school districts, property management companies, colleges and universities, and chains of restaurants/retail stores. They will be responsible for navigating their way through the organization to find the decision maker for facility maintenance. They will then be tasked with setting up a meeting with the decision maker and one of our salesmen. The salesman will lead the relationship from that point forward. * Another primary task of our marketing department is to get Allied on the list of preferred vendors in office buildings in all of markets. This will help with growth in all three departments: TI, inspection, and service. * Social Media / Company Newsletter / Website * Each marketing team member will be required to submit social media post content/photographs from industry events, jobsites and community outreach events. A task calendar with clear deadlines will be provided; each marketing team member is required to fulfill their social media responsibility. * Each marketing team member will be required to submit content for the Allied Fire Protection Monthly Newsletter. The topic/content will be assigned monthly and a task calendar with clear deadlines provided. * Knowledge: * High School diploma or GED required * Bachelor's degree preferred * Work Experience: * 3-5 years of marketing and/or business development experience preferred * 1-3 years of fire sprinkler/fire alarm industry and/or property management experience preferred * Skills and Competencies: * Excellent written and verbal skills * Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organizational skills * Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Products * Understanding of accounting practices * Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and assist other departments as needed * Some travel required * Physical Requirements * Office Setting: including sitting, some bending, walking and viewing. * Tradeshow Setting: including standing for long periods of time, limited heavy lifting, assist in tradeshow booth set up/tear down, ability to communicate orally with customers/vendors/management/coworkers is crucial.Allied Fire protection, Inc.
